Hand-typesetting & metal type proofing for ‘12 Years a Slave’ movie titles

In 2014, we collaborated with Vertigo to create the title graphics for the film ‘12 Years a Slave’. Drawing on antique metal Caslon type from our library, we hand-typeset and printed the artwork, which was then embellished with calligraphy by Paul Antonio. The final pieces were letterpress printed in a single colour on Zerkall mould-made paper.
